Dr. Eddy Fan

Clinician-Scientist

Dr. Eddy Fan is the lead investigator of the iCORE project. He is an associate Professor in the Interdepartmental Division of Critical Care Medicine and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto and a Staff Intensivist at the University Health Network/Mount Sinai Hospital. Dr. Fan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, his medical degree from the University of Western Ontario and a PhD in Clinical Investigation from Johns Hopkins University. He is currently the Medical Director of the Extracorporeal Life Support Program at the Toronto General Hospital.

Felicity Backhouse

Project Manager

Felicity Backhouse joined iCORE as the project manager in 2020. She received an undergraduate degree in the research specialist stream of psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University, an MSc in Medical Science at the University of Toronto, and is a Certified Clinical Research Professional. Felicity utilizes her diverse background in clinical research to improve data integrity and streamline data collection efforts across our ICUs.

Sabeen Munawer

Toronto Western Hospital Data Collection Specialist

Sabeen is a medical graduate from Windsor University School of medicine. She has been working in the iCORE research program since 2018.  She has always been inclined towards contributing in clinical research, as well as enhancing her medical knowledge and working towards improving quality of care. Her research interests include invasive and non invasive mechanical ventilation, ARDS, and critical care medicine

Doria Masoud

Sunnybrook Hospital Data Collection Specialist

Doria is an Internal medicine specialist with a rich work experience in Syria and Saudi Arabia. After moving to Canada she got a clinical research diploma, and made the internship placement

at Toronto General Hospital and Mount Sinai Hospital,

In October 2021 Doria was hired as a clinical research assistant for iCORE at Sunnybrook Research Institute ,she is excited to work with iCORE to expand her knowledge and experience at one of the World’s best hospitals. In her free time Doria is interested in reading history books, visiting museums and heritage sites.

Fazle Mohammed

Sunnybrook and Mount Sinai Hospital Data Collection Specialist

With more than 18 years of extensive experience as a physician, Dr. Fazle Rabbi has a rich background as an Interventional Pulmonologist. He is an enthusiast author of more than 20 original articles on respiratory and internal medicine that have been published in a number of international medical journal. His passion for research work has landed him to begin his journey with iCORE as one of their research assistants that he is excited about. He is an avid reader and loves writing poetry.

Eduard De La Cruz

Toronto General Hospital Data Collection Specialist

Eduard is a licensed family doctor in the Dominican Republic where he worked for many years in different hospitals.  After arriving to Canada, he felt great interest in Clinical Research and made his post graduate program at Oxford College where he graduated with honours. He was hired in 2021 as data collection specialist for ICORE at Toronto General Hospital, where he previously completed his internship placement. Currently, he is planning to expand his knowledge in health care sector to provide a better service to the population in need. In his spare time, Eduard likes to travel and get to know new cultures, as well as investigating world history.

Nebadita Saha

Toronto General Hospital Data Collection Specialist

Nebadita completed her Oxford College internship with iCORE. She has since joined the team as an RA. Nebadita has a background in medicine. Since moving to Canada, she has made an enthusiastic transition to Clinical Research. In her spare time, she enjoys cooking and listening to music.
